Become a Doggone Safe Presenter

Doggone Safe has four seminar programs. These are described on the Mandate and Programs Page. Doggone Safe is creating a network of presenters for its programs. How to become a presenter for each of the programs is explained below.

Be a Tree - for school aged children

Be Doggone Smart at Work - for workers who encounter dogs on the job

Be Doggone Smart at Home - for parents and grand parents

Be Doggone Smart With Your Baby - for expectant parents and grandparents

Be a Tree Program

The Be a Tree program is for school age children and there is a teacher kit available that supports this program

There are four levels of involvement with the Be a Tree program as follows:

There are different logo use rights and different benefits available for each of the options. The most benefits are conferred on Doggone Safe members who also sign the license agreement. To find out which logo you can use and what benefits you may have from Doggone Safe, please identify your situation in the chart above and then look down the appropriate column in the chart below to determine your benefits and allowable logo uses. To make things simple, just join Doggone Safe (it's only $20), sign the Be a Tree license agreement and enjoy all the benefits.

If you cannot afford to purchase a teacher kit, but you think that you can find a sponsor who will finance the purchase of a kit for you to use, you can join Doggone Safe, sign the Be a Tree license agreement and download the materials to help you generate a sponsorship proposal. All points listed in Option 4 above would apply.

Be Doggone Smart at Work Program

You must be a Doggone Safe member to be eligible to become a presenter for this program.

The Be Doggone Smart at Work Program is for workers who encounter dogs as part of the job. Examples include hydro workers, meter readers, cable installers, postal worker, real estate agents, social service workers and domestic workers.

Presenters for this program require knowledge of dog behavior and only selected Doggone Safe members will be eligible to deliver this program. The presenter must be capable of answering questions from the workers about how they could have handled past situations and what they should do in the future. The program is delivered from a Power Point presentation which will be provided free of charge to eligible presenters. The program is 1.5 hours long(with an additional half hour for questions) and contains many photos and videos. Training in the delivery of the program will be provided by Doggone Safe free of charge, but travel may be necessary to attend a training session. Doggone Safe charges the program recipient $600.00 for a 2 hour session and the presenter receives $200.00.

If you feel that you are qualified to deliver this program and would like to be considered as a presenter, please send you bio, with references to us. You will be asked to sign a license agreement that precludes you from using the program outside the auspices of Doggone Safe. All materials and training are provided for free, and this program is not being sold as a kit for general use as with the Be a Tree program.

Be Doggone Smart at Home

You must be a Doggone Safe member to be eligible to become a presenter for these programs.

These programs are currently only available in the areas of Doggone Safe offices and are still being developed to the point where other licensed presenters can deliver them on behalf of Doggone Safe. As with the worker program, the training and materials will be provided and these seminars will be run at a profit for Doggone Safe and with payment for the presenter.
